Grasshopper
Pie
10 Years and a Cloud of Dust
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Grasshopper Pie has been
playing its own brand of rock n’ roots music throughout Ohio and the
surrounding region for the past decade.
The band’s music revolves around tightly
arranged, well-written songs, with room for live improvisation.
Grasshopper Pie draws inspiration from classic rock and American roots
music including blues, bluegrass, country and funk. The band’s sound
is its own.
Grasshopper Pie’s on-stage tightness has been
hammered out through ten years of blood, sweat and tears on the regional
rock club and music festival circuit. During this time, Grasshopper Pie
has developed a loyal following and become a regular at some of the
biggest music festivals and venues in the region.
Grasshopper Pie has shared the stage with Derek
Trucks Band, Keller Williams, Ekoostik Hookah, Umphrey's McGee, Dickey
Betts, Dark Star Orchestra, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Jazz Mandolin
Project, Cyro Baptista, Charlie Hunter, David Nelson Band, Merle
Saunders, Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band, The Big Wu, The
Codetalkers with Colonel Bruce Hampton and more.
Grasshopper Pie has released two studio albums, Gypsy
Sky in 2000 and Horizons
in 2002. Plans for a third album are underway.
Each year, Grasshopper Pie co-hosts Tabfest, one of
the fastest growing music festivals in the Midwest. The event features
national, regional and local artists with proceeds donated Ronald
McDonald House Charities. Visit www.tabfest.com
